The same song, written by both of these 2 huge prog artists in the late 70s that appeared on two separate albums. I came across Peter's 2nd album (which included his version of the track) after hearing what I thought was the original on Fripp's, but have recently fallen in love with "Scratch" and I much prefer it to Robert's "Exposure". Anyway, I was wondering what you think, as Fripp's record is rated higher than Gabriel's on PA, but I've always preferred Peter's rendition (and that album on the whole).
Thanks for any feedback!

Interesting to compare the two. For me, I am kinda of attracted to more abrasive, mash-up feel, character of Fripp's version.

Both are great, though I'd say the screams of "EXPOSURE!" on Fripp's version detract from an otherwise perfect track. Have to give the nod to Gabriel.

I like both but the version on Fripp's album is way more memorable because of the more exuberant vocals. (Thanks, Terry Roche!)

I like PG's version of the song better but much prefer RF's Exposure album over PG2...

Leaning towards Gabriel's version. In both cases, Tony Levin's bass playing is outstanding.

Gabriel's version by far.

Another vote for Peter Gabriel. Can't stand the woman's voice on Fripp's version. Otherwise it is also a good version.

The music is comparable (oh well, maybe I could say it's the same in the whole). So the difference is PG voice for me. That woman's crying the word Exposure during the whole song isn't much impressive IMO. So my vote goes to Peter without hesistation. And yes, the bass line on both version is outstanding. Kudos to Tony Levin.
