Yet more sad news. This was posted on John Wetton's website...

"On May 16, John underwent surgery for the successful removal of a 1 kilo [2.2lb] malignant mass. John wishes to extend his thanks to Mr Chan and his team. John is also beyond grateful for the wonderful wishes and prayers received. John is recuperating. Messages can be sent via the management office to  mailto:[email protected]" rel="nofollow - [email protected] "

Here is to wishing John a speedy recovery...

John Wetton if a freaking force of nature, regardless of his time with Asia. God speed his return to the grand scheme of all things Wetton!

I read this the other day, and really enjoyed listening to the interview he did for Radio 2's Prog programme on Monday.

Let's hope for a full recovery.

Thanks, Steve!  We are all foursquare behind John on this one.

Lousy year for prog bassists it seems.

That is bad news, especially after Chris Squire's revelation. Hoping he makes a full recovery. Not a good month for bass players.

I haven't read all the news on this, but hope he recovers fast. I wonder if he knew all the time while playing the Final Tour that this was coming. If so, he did a massive job not letting it show through...

First Chris Squire and now John Wetton? Why did I have to be born in the wrong generation? Pray for both of them! We wish both of you a recovery soon!

Hoping for a fast and painless recovery.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.
