The classic line-up of the veteran English band regrouped in 2004 for a
lauded international tour. Spearheaded by singer and songwriter Dave

line-up amazed audiences worldwide. This disc was recorded at NEARfest,

Soft Machine/Soft Stage: BBC In Concert 1972 ....import CD $17.99
This live BBC concert was recorded at London's Paris Theatre on
20.7.1972,
just a few months before the live and studio material for band's album
Six
was put together. The Six album is widely regarded as a great record,
but as
the critic Duncan Heining says in his liner notes to Soft Stage, this
CD is
actually even better. This concert was the fifth by this incarnation of
Soft
Machine, with Karl Jenkins joining Mike Ratledge, Hugh Hopper and John
Marshall, adding his considerable skills on woodwinds and keyboards,
not to
mention his talents as composer. This performance also showcases the
exceptional Hopper-Marshall rhythm section. 'Slightly All The Time',
from
the pre-Fifth days, is almost unrecognizable. The rest of the set is a
mixture of compositions, mostly bearing only minor resemblance to the
originals, from Fifth and Six

Soft Machine & Heavy Friends/BBC In Concert 1971 ....import CD $17.99
This is a live session recorded for the BBC at London's Paris Theatre

March 11th 1971. John Peel introduced the concert as being by "Soft
Machine
and Heavy Friends". This is a unique recording in that, for this BBC
session, the band augmented and fragmented and performed with other
great
jazz musicians, including Ronnie Scott on tenor sax. The accompanying

page colour booklet includes brief notes from Robert Wyatt, Hugh Hopper

Elton Dean, who all recall their own memories of this recording. Also

Pip Pyle was a key figure in the Canterbury Music scene. In fact, as a

Equip' Out, performed a live show in Paris which is now released here

the first time. This particular line-up (Pip Pyle, Elton Dean, Patrice
Meyer
& Paul Roger) only ever did a handful of gigs.

Gryphon/Glastonbury Carol ....import CD $17.99
This album was compiled with full assistance from the band and features
their two BBC Radio 1 sessions, recorded in 1972 & 1974. Also included

is their single, 'Glastonbury Carol', which was originally commissioned
for
the closing titles of the film, 'Glastonbury Fayre'. The master tapes

this track had been missing for the past 30 years and were only

As co-founders of Steeleye Span, Gay & Terry Woods were pivotal figures

quintet
with the addition of Jim Dvorak and Roberto Bellatalla.  A couple of
years
later this sextet was born, when the band augmented yet again with the
addition of Keith Tippett on piano. This album was recorded in 1986 and

A compilation of three radio sessions recorded between 1972 & '74. The

In 1973, the Helps began recording their fifth album. However, these
sessions were never completed, the album was never released, and the
band
split later that year. In 2002 the band reconvened once again to
complete
the album and it is now released here for the first time. The cover
features
an original illustration by the legendary Rick Griffin and the booklet
includes a liner note from Malcolm Morley.

Gypsy/The Romany Collection ....import CD $17.99
Gypsy were one of the great attractions of the Isle Of Wight 1969
Festival.
A couple of years later, they released their debut eponymous album

Recorded live in their rehearsal studios before they had signed a

contract, this CD is comprised primarily of previously unreleased
tracks

Violent Femmes/BBC Live ....import CD $17.99
Recorded in London in 1991, the year of their 10th anniversary, this
concert
is now released here for the first time. This CD, which includes a
great
version of their classic anthem 'Blister In The Sun', captures the
essence
of the band live, and the powerful relationship with its audience. The
accompanying 12 page booklet includes comprehensive liner notes, rare
photographs and full recording details.

Heron/Black Dog ....import CD $17.99
Thirty years after their original formation, Heron recorded this new
album
in the village of Black Dog in Devon, England. As keyboardist Steve
Jones
put it, “reliving our past but bringing it up to date”. The band has
retained its unmistakably English sound and the songs are as unique as
ever;
still as relevant today as they were 30 years ago.

Roger Morris/First Album ....import CD $17.99
Recorded in the UK in 1971, First Album was a fine addition to the
burgeoning British country rock scene that encompassed the likes of
Matthews
Southern Comfort, Quiver, Help Yourself, and Brinsley Schwarz. Roger's
band
on this album features some of the finest musicians of the era,
including
Glenn Campbell, fresh out of Juicy Lucy (and formerly of The
Misunderstood),
drummer Rod Coombes, sax player Chris Mercer and bassist De Lisle
Harper.
The LP was Produced by ex-Tomorrow, Moonrider and Teenager Opera singer
Keith West. This is the first time this album has ever been released on
CD.
This issue boasts an additional 4 bonus tracks, not featured on the
original
LP. The accompanying 12 page booklet includes comprehensive liner notes
and
full lyrics to every track.
