Some bad news... seems Bob Moog is bed ridden with an inoperable brain tumor.  He only found out last April, and has deteriorated so much in the last month that they don't think he'll be with us much longer.

I'm very saddened by this.  I've known Bob since the 70s when he use to show up at some of the ELP shows.  He's always been a geniunely nice and funny man and I'm so sorry he has to suffer like this now..

His family has set up the following website to answer questions and to let friends & family sign a guestbook for him.

Please keep Bob in your thoughts and prayers as he and his family are going through this very difficult time.

Bob and I in happier times - last year at Moogfest in NYC:

First, thank you to Three Fates for letting us know this. I'm sure it must be especially painful as you know him.

Bob Moog's huge contribution to music,  especially prog, is obvious, and I'd like to send my best to him, as someone who's father died of an inoperabe brain tumour, and therefore I appreciate something of what Bob and his family may be enduring. The symptoms in each patient are very different; in this respect I hope he, as my father did , is suffering no pain. However, it is a disease that more than more terrifying than many because it can affect control of our own minds and bodies. For some reason, it is something that seems to affect highly intelligent people - my father was a Fellow of a London music college and a science teacher - and also we have in UK one of our most erudite and honest politicians, Mo Mowlam, who is currently afflicted. All I can really say is that I wish Bob Moog and his family all comfort at this time.

I will use the link to send a comment, thanks again 3 Fates.

Yes, he died yesterday afternoon. We are all very saddened.  Such a warm and kindhearted man... Sometimes I'm just amazed at how quickly some leave this earth... We should all cherish the times we have together...

Keith Emerson has written a bit about their relationship on his website:
