I know Mansun, Blur and Ultrasound's 'Everything Picture' but are there other pop albums/ artists with a proggy bent I missed during this decade?

Shoegaze movement in general might be what you're looking for.

I seem to recall some of the tracks off female-fronted shoegaze band Lush's `Split' has definite proggy tendencies.

While not purely `pop' as such, the very early Verve album `A Storm in Heaven' and their early singles were pretty much drifting and psychedelic. A world away from the `Bitter Sweet Symphony' nonsense they went into a few years later.

Wowza, that Lush song was really nice!  Reminds me a bit of The Cure (of which their album Wish certainly is an example of proggy 90's pop).  I'm going to have to check out Lush a bit more for sure.

Infocat, I was only really going off some fragmented memory of about fifteen years ago (also I'm at work and can't turn the volume on! )I haven't played that album in many years, but I always hung onto their discs because I know they're pretty special.

Now from what I recall, this was the other `proggy' moment off the same album:

And even the introductory track was pretty interesting as well:

Overall, even the poppier tunes off the album were pretty great as well!

I do recall their final album `Lovelines' was a lot poppier than these clips, but you know, GOOD pop all the same!

Damn, now I really can't wait to get home and dig their CD's out again, they were a great little band.

I'm listening to Split on Spotify right now.  Definitely good stuff.

Thanks for the tips. Lush's 'Lovelife' went into Oasis territory and it's the only one I've heard. I'll check out the earlier stuff. I like that Verve track a lot, very spacey. I thought 'Bittersweet Symphony' was a decent tune, better than most of what was coming out of the Britpop scene at the time.
