One more for day.
Again for 2001, and 2011.
2011 had much better albums in the Top 15'ish section, but lets stick to the theme
With this one i gotta go with the obvious Swilson pick.

Ske, Phideaux and Discipline all belong to my persona Top 10 for 2011. As I needed to pick only one, I voted for Discipline's magnificent comeback. However, there were other masterpieces released in that year, one of the very best years for progressive rock since the beginning of the 21st century.

Discipline. That's a really great album.
That particular Transatlantic album is probably their best though.

I haven't heard all the albums from this list, but I'm surprised that Terria is being so dismissed. I got that one because it had great reviews, and indeed it's a perfect album which I really love.

1. Wilson 2. Phideaux. Prefer some of Phideaux's earlier albums, if they'd been on the list it would have made this choice harder. Snowtorch is still good though! Still waiting on word of another album.

I'm surprised too at the lack of love for that one. It would be in my top three with Wilson and Discipline. I've said it before but I find it really interesting how over the years the attitude towards different bands and even sub-genres has changed on the site here, maybe more that the people have changed I don't know.

Yeah, it can become slightly frustrating how you think you know what the preferences in the prog world are... and then one day you find out everything is upside down. Next the favourite band on this site will be Supertramp or Toto, nobody will care for Yes, Genesis, and King Crimson (perhaps ELP will be back to god-like status, though), and Yes's and Genesis favourite albums will be 90125 and ABACAB.

Got to be Steven Wilson. Lateralus is one I admire more than actually enjoy while I got bored with Transatlantic a long time ago. Perhaps I played that album too much. Don't know the others.

you're exaggerating, nobody's ever claimed Abacab is a masterpiece on the forum, or that is better than their 70s albums. As for Toto, they have always been rejected, surely a great band, but they don't belong here. Classic prog will always get the love, no worries.
I won't vote yet, no album really stands out for me and I'll try to listen to a couple I do not know.
I do like Townsend's Terria, I'll try to give it a listen, haven't listened to it in a really long time. I dunno, it might just get my vote.

I'd probably like Devin Townsends music more if he'd just mix his bass properly, every album of his I've got has the bottom end ripped out of it because he's mixed it so damn low that you can barely hear it, which just leaves a waking great gap in the mix and the obvious feeling that something important is missing (like the f**king bass!).
It's really frustrating for me because albums like Terria and Deconstruction would be brilliant if he mixed them properly, it's the reason I tend to gravitate towards his albums like Ghost.
I'm actually more shocked that Opeth only have 3 votes! Where the hell have all their fans gone?

I have listened to Blackwater Park only once, and enjoyed it. The others I have not, and there are plenty of artists on this list that I think I would like. So no vote, yet again.

Yeah, of course I'm exagerating... however, up to a (much) smaller point, it has happened. Dream Theater used to be huge in this site, and now not many people care about them any more. I would have to check some other examples, I don't remember how much Wakeman may have been apreciated before, but now he seems to be somewhat dismissed.

Well, I really loved Terria, but didn't really pay attention to notice the "lack" of bass. I guess it's somewhat a metal thing, to have the bass buried under the crunching guitars. Perhaps next time I spin it I'll pay more attention to it... or perhaps better not, I would not like to be annoyed by a thing like that, which hasn't bothered me up to this point.
