Hello all!

I realized that while this was announced within the collaborators' circles, no announcement had been made in the general forum.

A number of genre teams were affected by an organizations change implemented by the admin team in agreement with the genre team leaders over the past few months. The admins agreed that some genre teams who had a lower volume would benefit from being merged with other low volume teams of the same style. The teams affected are as follows:

Post rock and Math rock have been merged to a single team managing a single genre: The Post/Math Rock Team. This one made sense to us, as having two teams manage a single genre made little sense. In fact, it probably isn't known by many that there was once two teams. Post rock and math rock, while being stylistically unique, are connected by many factors, including the bands in the genres, the timeline of their development, and the sonic scene in which they exist. Therefore, the two teams were merged. The team is currently led by zravkapt and angelmk.

Psych/Space Rock, Indo/Krautrock, and Prog Electronic have all been merged into a single team managing four different genres: The PSIKE Team. After the departure of Philippe, a collaborator who managed the Krautrock team and the Prog Electronic team for some time, the admins decided that it would make more sense to merge these three teams. The three teams have low membership and relatively small volume, and the styles of the four genres which the team manages are all relatively similar. While not as connected as post rock and math rock, they exist in the more psychedelic sphere of prog rock, and therefore it is not a stretch to imagine them working as a single unit. The team is currently led by Rivertree and Sheavy.

Thanks for this Andy - it clears up a lot of things, except perhaps how the voting is going to be organised regarding requirements for clearing the artists under evaluation by these new 5-man teams (Crossover and Prog Metal are both 5-man teams, but Crossover seems to be far more relaxed than PM about clearing artists with one or more 'no' votes against them - PM's chart on pf currently having two artists with a 4 'yes' one 'no' conclusion still held over in the 'new' chart, whereas this pattern of votes - and indeed even a 3 'yes' 2 'no' outcome - would result in a 'cleared' status for the Crossover boys).

Three yes votes is a clear for us.

The new teams will follow standard procedure with voting (5-man teams, 3 yes clears, two nos reject).

Voting is set at that standard, but genre team leaders can choose to be as strict as they want, and Thanos believes that a stricter voting regiment for PM makes sense.

Up to the team. I would consider that a clearance, but some teams are exclusive rather than inclusive and will reject.

Alex would also seem to consider it a clearance judging from his post four above ^, so hopefully Darryl will too. Smile

I would but I'm only speaking for me, not my colleagues, that's something we will discuss when the time comes.

Also who is Darryl?

^ Darryl is http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=30993" rel="nofollow - Darryl

The policies have been made to help the evaluation teams and not the other way round Wink and their interpretation should be done applying prudence and common sense.

Two very logical moves by the Admin team in my opinion.

He is the leader of the Post/Math Rock team...otherwise known as http://www.progarchives.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=30993" rel="nofollow - zravkapt . Wink

LOL - Thanos beat me to it ^,  but even though it's still the last post in the thread, for some reason I can't delete it. Tried several times with two different browsers, but no 'delete' option appears in the dropdown box - only 'edit'. Confused

Edit again: Seems to be a bug in this part of the forum, 'cos when I go to the last post I made in the New Suggestions forum, the delete option appears in the dropdown list just as normal. Very mysterious...  http://www.sherv.net/" rel="nofollow">

Oh my! I HAVE gotten behind on things around here Keishiro...Didn't even know that you'd stepped down as admin & Psych/Space team collab. Shocked  Embarrassed Never mind though, 'Sake Reviewer' sounds like a lot more fun than the tedious admin work you must have been faced with! LOL  I guess after a few glasses of the transparent nectar, even Lady Gaga would sound like Psych/Space music, so nothing is gonna be lost in the long run! Wink

Enjoy your well-earned retirement! Approve

Thanks David.
Decided I demoted myself to a Senior Member last yearend ... could not work enough for PA now (especially this winter) but I'm around here always, and enjoying Japanese sake ALWAYS. LOL
