Some of my favourite album covers from the Norwegian jazz-rock/avant label Rune Grammofon. Which of these is your favourite? Whether you've heard the album or not is irrelevant, here it's just about the cover art. Vote away!

Not a fan of Rune's lazy coverartist at all but I must admit that Scorch Trio album works really well. Looks like a classic 60's jazz cover.

Not a fan at all. Decent at its best. I vote for the Elephant9 cover because I can find some liking for the kaleidoscopic effect yet.

I like Grindstone best but the Grand General cover is not showing up for me Ultralyd, Jono El Grande and El Doom are also nice

Nothing impressive, the Elephant9 is the less anonymous
------------- I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

For some reason, I have never seen a Rune Grammofon album art that I found interesting. From the choice given here, the least unimaginative, probably, is the Dodovoodoo, but it's also kind of bland (despite all the colors and shapes).
I quite like the Still Life With Eggplants art, but I don't think its Rune Grammofon.

Guess I'm in the minority when I say I like RG cover arts for the most part. But I've always been a fan of geometric shapes and tessellation type things. Tough call for me between Elephant9 & Grand General. Going wit the skull this time.

Man, there's some great cover arts right here. I only have all the Elephant9 albums and the Panzerpappa, my fave is actually Walk The Nile - and the LP is different from the CD. Much better. Of these listed above, I especially love the Neo Dada one.

Honestly, I find all of them rather dull so no vote from me.

I don't like any of them, but Ultralyd's Conditions for a Piece of Music is the least uninteresting, followed by Grand General. Definitely not my style.

Voted for Elephant9 's Dodovoodoo. I like equally that Krokofant artwork. Both have a lot of Bauhaus School style of the graphic design what I always loved so much.

Not surprisingly, these are rubbing some people the wrong way. I just love how simple, yet effective, most of these covers are. Favourites are (in alphabetical (bands) order): Nordheim Transformed, Electric Komle - Live!, Grand General and Melaza, but I, too, will vote for Elephant9's debut's excellent cover. It's simply amazing, as far as i'm concerned! Also, I hope I'm not the only one seeing an elephant in there.

| I see it too !! I knew it was there.....whew, I'm not flashing back...... Still love Walk The Nile - those colourful dots......it's often about colours and shapes, very abstract, yet simplistic. Rune Grammofon did well getting Kim H to handle the artwork.

Again, if I could vote I'd go with El Doom and the born Electric.
