From DGMLive (Fripp's site) April Fool seems to have come a little early this year. A twitter account bearing the name of Robert Fripp has announced KC69 are reforming for a one-off concert. Obviously there NO truth to this tweet and we are taking steps to have the account closed down. |

Too bad it was a fake.
"Give the people what Fripp wants" has always been his motto.

An interview with Bill Rieflin from 2011, for those who don't know much about him, this is quite interesting.

It would be great if they would perform their debut album completley, but I don't think Fripp needs to reform the original band for that... the one he is just working with would perform it just as well, if not better. The singer (Jacksyk or however it is spelled) would surely sound better with those songs than Lake would this days, for his voice has somhow changed dramatically (perhaps he would do nicely with 21st Century with his new voice, but not with Epitaph and Court of the Crimson King). Though it would be nice to have McDonald with the band too.

Perhaps the fact that a lot of bands are doing things like this these days is a clue that Fripp would not be doing this sort of thing. That would be to follow a trend, which simply cannot be allowed.

Oh I could see a little musical trend-following going on with the Discpline / Beat / ToaPP era band But he's never been one for musical nostalgia / retro-ism, that's for sure. I still remember his splendidly dismissive response to a chap who had the temerity to ask whether nu-KC would ever again feature his favourite vintage keyboard instrument. Fripp: "The Mellotron is irrelevant."
