Maybe there is no meaning behind the name and the band knew that people would think that there was so that's why they called it Catch 33, so that people would think it ment something when in reality, it's a Catch-22 because you want an answer, but you'll never get the right one.

Meshuggah is laughing at you all!

There are a handful of VERY intelligent posters on the Meshuggah forum.

I just checked, Catch 33 is like 48 minutes...  but they'd at least originally talked about it being 33, to get out of teh contract...

...It could be a prank by them.

they made the album just as a prank?

33 minutes was the shortest album Meshuggah could make to complete their contract with Nuclear Blast.

it was? which one?

I think Man Overboard only joked there

Meshuggahs albums was never under the 45 minute mark (except for "I" - which is a EP)

Catch 33, being 33 minutes, was Meshuggah's way of finally getting out of that contract.

incredible album, but what is the title and concept all about? I know it is obviously a nod to Jospeph Hellers, "Catch 22" but how does it relate and what is it all about?
