This is just out of personal curiosity really this poll is not meant to have any bearing on the website (mostly because I expect to be disagreed with on all ends), but out of the more than 300 artists in the art rock section of the ones you know do you find most of them to really be prog at all? By that I mean more than just "sort of" "a little bit" or "X album is prog", I mean do you think that the bands are legitimate progressive rock bands. IMO there are some bands which are pretty much unarguably prog (Rush, Macdonald & Giles, and maybe Alan Parsons Project, Anekdoten, probably a scattered other few) a few im undecided on (pretty much just the recent addition of Adrian Belew) a couple of intelligent Pop/Rock(not quite prog) groups (Supertramp, Roxy Music, Curved Air, Queen, Saga(yes Saga), Kansas, and many many more) and a few groups/artists who are thrown in because they were in a prog group at one point but do not belong in this website at all (Jon Anderson, Peter Gabriel, Robert Fripp, GTR, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Asia, Im sure there are a lot more also)

Basically I think it would be good discussion

(oh I think No the majority isnt prog, and a number of the bands and artists I listed as not prog I really like, dont say Im just saying that because I dont)

Not all art rock is prog, but all prog is art rock.
