Luckily I chose to see Riverside in London on Thursday night instead. They were excellent but the singer was struggling with some kind of throat infection, so I think the reason for them cancelling Sheffield was true. I do feel sorry for Kris who put so much effort into organising Y-Prog, only for everything to go wrong it seems. And also sorry to all those who lost money on it.

The fact is there is not a large enough prog audience in the UK to support more than 3 or 4 festivals a year, and we already have Summer's End, Celebr8, Danfest, Electric Garden, to some extent Cambridge Rock Festival, and new for this year HRH. I think the fact HRH was scheduled 3 weeks after Y-Prog and only about 5 miles away was the main killer of Y-Prog.

I found out the gig was cancelled on the train. Carried on and had a few beers in and around Sheffield. I was really looking forward to it but these things happen and hope he gets back on track soon
it's in the way that you use it

Check out the Electric Garden Prog Festival instead. The North's premier progressive rock feastival. Everyone has a good time and no-one leaves disappointed.
Tickets are cheaper and a really strong line-up.
