Visited the summer of love exhibition at Tate Liverpool. Well worth a visit.
lots of posters from US shows (Grateful dead, jefferson Airplane, QMS, etc), good photographs of 60's icons (warhol, Jagger, etc) underground mags, Allan Ginsberg writings, etc.
All quite interesting, BUT...
on the fourth floor went into room a described as 'beyond imagination' and 'son of beyond imagination'. There was an all round light projection as a backdrop to Soft Machine's first album. I spent 45 minutes, or so, stood next to the speaker transfixed by the display and music (Wyatts vocals; I had quite forgot what a superb drummer he was, Kevin Ayers bass & drawl).
Fabulous stuff. Best £5 I have spent in ages.
