I just posted simultaneously that I think Beyond this life and Through her eyes should be regarded together as one song. That one gets my vote.

The exotic riff that Petrucci creates from the intro to Home is such a pleasure to the ears
and if there is one song DT do that u really can't help wanting to move to, it is that one.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Home. it was the first DT song I ever heard, so it's like the song that defines them for me. plus, it's the only one I can play all the way thru on bass.

It is hard to choose, but I'd say Strange Deja Vu, followed by Home and Beyond This Life. Such a great album!!!

Every damn one is so perfect in each individual way, but "Overture
1928", while NOT the best track , is my personal favorite: like Rush's
Overture on "2112", it introduces all the main melodic themes of the
album, but does it much better. All of Petrucci's leads and solos on
this album are unbelieveably beautiful and emotional, ESPECIALLY on
Overture 1928.
