The next biggest thing after the World Cup is the European champianship so why not.

Even if I were willing to go through this same process once again, I think it'd be much more interesting to do an american tournament. It would be a nice opportunity to show the world awesome prog bands like Bubu, Crucis, Bacamarte, Los Jaivas, Cabezas De Cera and many many more which are great and doesn't seem to get as much recognition as the european ones. This coming from a south american person, of course.

That sounds like a decent idea, just give us a bit of a rest from the WC first! Besides, a Eurpopean championship would boil down to Porcupine Tree vs Riverside/Opeth again.
