Check out "Mice and Rats in the Loft" by Jan Dukes de Grey. 3 songs of heavy psych / folk.

I can't miss a chance to plug one of my favorites, Between Sunlight and Shadow from Singularity.  One fifteen part song; each being a separate "track".

I am really enjoying Green Carnation's Light of Day Day of Darkness.  Very epic track!  I generally do not like metal due to screaming, but I love Riverside and Porcupine Tree.  Green Carnation's Light of Day Day of Darkness is very little metal with many prog elements.  I can take heavy prog to prog metal if the vocals are good.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Can you recommend The Acoustic Verses by Green Carnation?

I appreciated all the responses and will spend some time researching the music.  The beauty of this website is discovering new music.  I have Jean Michel Jarre Zoolook, and used to have Oxygene and Equinox on Vinyl I think.  I have lots of Magma.I bought Green Carnation Light of Day Day of Darkness today, and am listening to it now.  So far, it sounds epic.

I can't leave one of these threads without recommending Frances The Mute by The Mars Volta. With the extra track of the same name there's 90min of music in 6 tracks.

It also happens to be my favourite album so I may have some bias..... Get it anyway Wink

also thought of Nektar's A Tab In The Ocean, if you count all the tracks on side two as strung together, which is pretty well the way they are

Not sure if somebody already mentioned Jean Michelle Jarre's Oxygene (1 track divided in 6 parts).
PF's Wish You Were Here does not have many tracks either if you consider the 2 parts of Shine On You Crazy Diamond as 1 song.

Vangelis - Beauborg
Vangelis - Hypothesis
other Vangelis recordings are at least 3 tracks or more inc Heaven and Hell (despite the way it was marketed in the UK which suggests just two tracks)

Rick Wakeman - Journey To The Centre Of The Earth

Tangerine Dream - Tangram

Stephen Caudel - Wine Dark Sea

Another long songs only album you might enjoy is Godspeed You! Black Emperor's Lift your Skinny fists like Antennas to Heaven. It's instrumental unless you consider spoken word passages to be singing.

Why specifically 1 or 2 track albums? Is there something that makes them better than the others?

I buy all prog, and there is nothing better about them.  I do get excited when I see long tracks that have many changes in music.  I have a ton of Miles Davis including that one, and am trying not to find instrumentals.  Thanks for the suggestions.
