So I've converted to Macs for the household here. I put my CD's into iTunes. Still have a Windows PC for which I have a DAC that runs out of the computer and plugs into my amp so I can listen to music a appropriate volume (i.e., loud). Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive DAC for the Mac, something that would let me listen from the Mac?
Can you tell me where we're headin'?

So actually just for the hell of it I plugged my 'Windows' DAC into the MacBook Pro and some fine person at Apple or maybe just some Unix dude has made compatibility possible. The Mac knows my USB DAC and is more than happy to route audio output to de Yamaha Receiver.

My apologies for the unnecessary churn.

It's fine when this happens, I save $, everybody's happy, and all is right with the world, I  am here to tell you my wife does not like that Alcest, though surprisingly she loves Groundhogs Cherry Red. Go figure.
