Topic: Genre Names in Short Form / Nicknames Posted: July 14 2011 at 08:39 |
An attempt to simplify the spelling of prog genre names. These are merely first draft and further improvement is encouraged and appreciated. Crossover Prog -> CrogProgressive Death Metal -> Progdeath, Progdetal, nickname: Opdeath Avant-garde Black Metal -> Avanblack, AvanblackalProgressive Metal -> Pretal, nickname: Protty (should be "Pretty" but that's already a word, so....) Symphonic Metal -> SymetalSymphonic Prog -> Symphrog, Symg, nickname: Symphy. Symphia Post-Rock -> Prock, nickname: Sugar Rock (because Sigur Ros is the most famous post-rock band) Math-Rock -> Mrock, nickname: Spidey Psychedelic Rock nickname: Syke, Sykael (although Mikael is not in this genre) Progressive Folk nickname: Froggie, The Notorious F.R.O.G.

Perhaps you could spend your time listening to music rather than sub-sub-sub-labelling it.
