Today, I listened to Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli on the album Djangology (fantastic jazz album), and also The Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac (a great collection of rock & blues).

All of my beloved prog metal can be traced back to the 70s Sabbath and 80s Maiden, so they're all just one big family. Nothing is too different from another.

I've been listening to the Beach Boys compulsively for a month and trying out Thin Lizzy today (don't know a lot about them but their lead vocalist is great, anyone can tell). What else, what else, recently....

Before this beach boys obsession I was getting into Tangerine Dream, Paul McCartney, exploring Genesis again (still gratifying after doing so quite frequently for most of my life)

Like some other people have said before, 12 months seems to signal the basic urge to revisit your favorite bands. You know you truly liked it when you have that urge and how long your recurrence lasts for and if it repeats again.

I recently spent an entire month listening to nothing but Captain Beefheart and Steely Dan. It was delicious in its incongruity, kind of like bacon-flavored chocolate.

There was a period when I was only listening to Katy Perry and John Zorn.

Coming to work this morning: Thick as a Brick and a Jimmy Cliff compilation.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution
