The Romanian heavy/psych/eclectic band Alternativ Quartet have just released at 0:00 hrs today their second album, titled "Aripi" (Wings). The album can be downloaded for free from their website here: http://alternativquartet.ro/aripi/
All you have to do is to click on the cover images of the two albums to download them in MP3 format. Also, an archive containing both of the album in loseless format can be downloaded by clicking on the button "FLAC". The band is relatively new on PA hence the lack of ratings so far, but you can trust me, they're excellent and recommended to fans of Isis, Tool, Mogwai, Oceansize, Mars Volta, etc.

I'm listening to the new album right now, and so far it sounds pretty good.

I loved their first one and downloaded this one as soon as it got released... Giving my first listen right now and it is sounding quite good...
This one may make it to my top 2011 list.... which so far includes Sanhedrin's Ever After, Fromuz's Quartus Artifactus and Wobbler's Rites At Dawn (live-wise: ELP's Live at Nassau Colosseum and to a much lesser extent Yes' Union Live -a good performance but nothing special...quite disappointing for the amount and quality of the musicians involved, with the exception of a particularly powerful performance of Heart of the Sunrise) Edited by ProgressiveAttic - May 15 2011 at 00:25 |

Both albums are excellent, actually I think that the second one is slightly better. Very consistent in style and quality.
