I was searching through my record collection the other day to find the ones I want to keep because im moving into my own apartment soon, and I found tons of awesome records I didn't even know I had, including jethro tull's a passion play, minstrel in the gallery, and thick as a brick, and other records like that, and then I found a record by a band called Babe Ruth.

Sure, I listened to it, and besides one cover of a frank zappa song king kong, it sucks. But there's one reson I kept it, it has a roger dean cover(which is the only reason why I kept the single asia album i have), and I never even seen it before.

Anyway the album is called first base, and did anyone even know this cover existed? I found a pic of it on the net:

That's the cover, anybody seen it before? It's obviously not his best, but still.

Cool, thanks for the pic! I never seen that before. I was going to try & collect every Roger Dean cover as a hobby but it would mean having to buy some Tamla Motown albums so I gave up on the idea.

Actually found that Babe Ruth CD in a second-hand sale ... at first listen I wasn't impressed, but now I don't think it's too bad ... that lady's lead vocals are pretty steamin'
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

^ As have I but it's a good cover.

yea I've seen it before (I think in a Roger Dean Collection)

I think his best covers are his Asia ones, too bad he wasted them on such crappy albums.

I saw that album last week in one typical music shop, it was even quite cheap...

I'm cover art fan...

this are, im my opinion, best dean resources:
  • Dean at RateYourMusic; very organized, but you must create an accout (for free, no spam and absolutly no spot, don't worry!) to see RateYourMusic pages, otherwise you get only a single alphanumerical line, so go at home page http://rateyourmusic.com
  • ARTISTICS RECORDS (L.P.) COVERS; probably most complete list
  • Dean at WallFlowers society, few covers, but very high quality

    goodbye
