Dream Theater

Chas & Dave

OK, lets settle this debate once and for all - if you were throwing a beery party for a right royal cockney barrel of monkeys, which would be the better band to book - cheeky beer swilling cockney monkeys Chas & Dave or prog metalllers Dream Theater?

Hot-Shot Tottenham and Snooker Loopy alone would do the trick ... although I might ask them to drop Romford Rap from the set-list ...

Were either Chas or Dave in a prog band before linking up? Seem to recall reading something like that once ...
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I saw Chas and Dave at Knebworth in 1979 and they were great. They totally blew away Led Zep. Well OK not really.Though i was really drunk at the time. It was my nineteenth birthday. Ah happy days.

I notice that even in this completely rigged poll the DT fans are determined that their Rush tribute act must conquer all before them...

But I don't care, I don't care, I've got my beer in my sideboard here...

so gertcha!

Monkey see monkey do, so Chas and Dave.

Dream Theater for those monkeys would be like a spaceship landing close to an African tribe. There wouldn't be an immediate match.

Chas and Dave are a one off, unique, out on their own musical unit.  They've entertained people for years and are still playing (a festival in Devon this summer).

Didn't either Chas or Dave die recently though?
