On the rock/salted. Best way to drink it. You get more alcohol for your money as well.

I'd settle for gin-n-tonic...

Actually, I worked with a project manager some years back, and we travelled to the US a couple of times. In the hotel, he used to drink Margaritas all the time. And he would brag in the office: "Sure, when I'm sucking on a Margarita in the US again, I feel I'm really the man."
Then one day, a big black guy from Curacao joined our project - 2 meters high, one meter wide, and his last name was Margarita. We never heard the phrase 'sucking a margarita' form that day onward...

Straight tequila shots.

Some fine anejo is the best.
Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

I've never even had a margarita.  But right now I have Beefeater dry gin and would honestly mix it with anything if I had it.  This is horrible.
Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.

Buy a bottle of tonic water to go with it. Slice of lemon added and it becomes very drinkable.

Good advice (though I prefer lime).

Me too, I wrote lemon unconsciously because they are easier to get where I live (one ocean away from Pennsylvania, so a bit of a silly move...)

Gin?  Put an olive in the glass, pour in very cold gin generously, and you have a dry martini.
Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

In my experience, vermouth just waters it down.  You can buy olives in vermouth that do the trick. Wink

My preferred martini is closer to a 50/50 (technically a different cocktail), and I like it extra dirty.

Something like 2.5 oz of gin (or vodka), 1.5 oz of dry vermouth, a splash of olive juice, and more than one olive.

Not with you on the proportions, but I'm with you on the olives.  When drinking martinis, those olives are dinner.

I'm having one right now!

We're getting ready to fry some shrimp and I'm making homemade french fries.  Big smile

(We have a helluva lot of potatoes to consume before we move LOL).

Silver. Rocks. Salt.  Garnished with fresh jalapenos sans seeds.
Two of those, then switch to cerveza.  Negra Modelo.
