The one Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and
Eric Clapton credit as THE AMERICAN GUITARIST
that they all copied! Of course Jimi passed him!
Along with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Roy Buchanan, Alvin
Lee and Johnny Winter as the heavyweights of blues
rock Buddy is legendary.
He recorded outside of the mainstream american
blues movement with Passport from Germany and
spent most of the 80s in France. Unfortunately his
recordings are nothing like his live performances.
The only one that captures his power live is called
STONE CRAZY! Recorded on a french label it was
not released worldwide until later. There is a
compilation called Stone Crazy also to add to the
confusion that is worthless IMO.
If you are ever in Chicago, Illinois, USA off of
Michigan Ave, downtown Buddy has a club that ALL
the guitar greats from around the world stop in and
play. Buddy is booked there also during the year. You
dont want to miss it. He plays songs, breaks off and
starts talking smack to and about the audience and
most of the show he is walking around in the
audience playing right in your lap. AWESOME!!!
Most of his tours now are just for showmanship but
occasionally he shows you what he knows.
A TRUE LEGEND not to be missed while his is still
cranking out tunes!
