The first movie in each of the two series will always be classics in my opinion. Each of the series put out a fourth movie several years after the other three.
I would like to know which series you liked the most and if you have a favorite movie in each series you can include that as well.

Die Hard - Yippee ki-yay MotherfCensored!

Lethal Weapon 1 was okay, but the franchise wore thin for me - I guess I never got Gibson's constant gurning and all the 3-Stooges gags.
What?

Die Hard for me, and the first is my favorite of them so far.

Die Hard. The first 3 are top notch action, and the fourth is still ok. Lethal Weapon was good for the first 2, but went downhill for the next few.

I still remember seeing Die Hard in the theater and being blown away by it. Great movie.

Die Hard.  The first and third ones are my favorite.

I don't think Lethal Weapon ever had the level of action that Die Hard had even if you only compare the first movie in each series. After the first Lethal the action seemed to taper off and the story line followed the relationship between Riggs and Murtaugh / family. In the Die Hard series there's major action scenes in all four movies.
The first Lethal is probably my favorite. But as much as I liked the first Die Hard, the third movie with Samuel L. Jackson is the best (IMO).

Die Hard 1 & 3 beat the whole Lethal Weapon series on their own.But I'm willing to take away points for the abomination that is Die Hard 4.Quite honestly a piece of hollywood bullsh*t.

DH4 was a stretch, but still had quite a few action sequences. And don't forget, it also had Silent Bob. And I've become sort of a Timothy Olyphant fan since seeing things like Deadwood and Hitman.
(Yes, 4 and 2 are tied for last place.)
