The Idea came about from reading reviews about Agents of mercy and it got me thinking .. rather than releasing good yet mediocre material wouldn't the members of The Flower Kings be better off  writing stuff for the flower kings next CD instead ?  ... Shocked

I haven't grown tired of them,I want more!

Some of the stuff the other members of TFK do is just as good as TFK material(Karmakanic,Transatlantic and The Tangent)

Agents of Mercy I am a little lukewarm about,I need to spin the cd a few more times.

I believe only Hasse Bruniusson performed music very different from TFK.

^ I watched the vid, and it's not that different than TFK. It's a little more experimental, but still has a few distinct TFK arrangements.

I voted no.  But I wish they'd get their collective butts together as a new TFK album is well overdue.

In a way you're right. I would like them to write their best stuff for TFK itself.
And where their projects are concerned: it depends. I LOVED Karmakanics latest but AoM is indeed disappointing. And Roine's and Tomas' solo albums are usually worth while.

These guys are trying to make a living.  A romantic vision from fans of how things should be has no basis in reality. TFK has a mature fan base that isn't likely to expand much in the future so they have to branch out.  I'm sure Roine gets a little uptight that Jonas and Tomas do not bring more to the table as far as writing for TFK, but they are saving their best for their own projects, where they would get the bulk of the money for the CD sales.  And Roine is so prolific that he can easily branch out and hopefully catch lightning in a bottle like with the Tangent and TA.  He expanded his brand and his reach and brought in more TFK fans with those projects.

Music and sports are a lot alike.  The fans want to believe that the participants are in it for the love of it.  But they are both about business and getting paid.
