I mean let's face it, for 25 years (1970-1995) Sabbath had been fairly consistent with their album releases (the biggest time gap being only 3 years)...then came the reunion with Ozzy...

So what am I annoyed with? With the exception of a couple of songs they recorded and all the world tours they did, we pretty much got a decade of nothing! All that time and nothing! It wouldn't be until Heaven & Hell came around that we finally got something.

Seeing Ozzy back with Sabbath is great and all but I would rather hear a new Sabbath album (with new material) by a lineup I'm not all that familiar with than hear another Ozzy-Sabbath live album with all the same songs. At least with the Tony Martin lineup one could hear a Black Sabbath song from practically every album instead of ones just from the Ozzy years.

So again my question is...Am I the only one annoyed that the 1997 Black Sabbath Reunion brought us next to nothing while we might have gotten another ten years of consistent album releases?

Probably! Wink Because taken together with the facts, it doesn't make sense.  Because by the time of Forbidden, Black Sabbath was a dead duck for all practical purposes.  Metalheads who were around in USA and had been following Sabbath for a long time say Sabbath were consigned to playing tiny clubs at one point and the Ozzy reunion in fact revived interest in the band.  Nothing came out of it and I am thankful for that in a way because I really wouldn't want to listen to MORE Ozzy-Sabbath (though I love the original set of Ozzy albums madly), especially in the 90s.  Eventually, Dio's solo career drifted into oblivion and Dio and Iommi put their differences aside - seem to have - and gave us Devil You Know this year under the name of Heaven and Hell!  Clap
