So Dean was that the number 11th or 12th suggestion since the release of Mew and the Glass Handed Kites?Wink

And I fully agree with you Janus. I think they would fit perfectly in Crossover, but as you could read from Raff´s answer we´ll have to wait for the next album to arrive. Which will hopefully be very soon. It´s always hard to get commercially succesful artists added to PA when they are not considered fully progressive. At least that´s my experience so far.

Thanks for your reply (forgot to use the search engine!). I've got high hopes for their forthcoming release (I really dig their new single) and I hope to see them on PA very soon! :)

Mew have already been suggested a number of times, and evaluated by various teams. Unfortunately, at least for the time being, their output has not been considered progressive enough for the site. However, since we are aware of the number of people who would like to see them here, the team have come to a decision: wait until their next album is released, and see if it is indeed more progressive than the previous ones.

Personally speaking, though I am not a member of the Xover team, I have listened to "And the Glass-Handed Kites", and agreed with my fellow collabs. Hopefully the band's next release will be the one that finally leads them here!

This band has become more progressive in recent years. Their first few records were probably more indie like, but with their 3rd studio album entitled 'Frengers', breakthrough album, they slowly started to move towards a more progressive path and with their 2005 release '...and the Glass Handed Kite' they were definitely inspired by the progressive rock scene. The album is meant to be one continuous track divided into 14 tracks.

Their forthcoming album (August 2009) is likely to be another album in the 'Glass Handed Kite' vein. The first single, 'Introducing Palace Players', is a very interesting piece which can be heard on their MySpace page. The album is entitled 'No More Stories / Are Told Today / I'm Sorry / They've Washed Away // No More Stories / The World Is Grey / I'm Tired / Let's Wash Away'.

I'll suggest adding the band as Crossover Prog. They have been mentioned several times, especially following 'Glass Handed Kite', as a progressive rock band and they have featured in the Classic Rock Magazine on at least one occasion during a huge prog theme (a few years back).

I hope some of you out there know about the band and will support my suggestion. I wouldn't mind adding all the necessary information about the band if they are to be submitted to ProgArchives.

Nevertheless, I'll recommend the band highly (especially 'Frengers' and 'Glass Handed Kite').

Check out YouTube for a few more songs, though Glass Handed Kite really is to be listened to from start to end.

Thanks.
Janus, Denmark
