Procol Harum's self titiled debut was released in January 1968.
It was not released in 1967 as listed in their discography on PA.

The Procol Harum official website says 1967. Wikipedia (never reliable but...) says June 1967. Amazon says 1967 ["First released in 1967 on Regal Zonophone (in the U.K.) & Deram (in the U.S.)"]. eil.com says 1967...

I have every now and then looked for an official site and even today I can't find any. I don't think it exist. Please provide the link.
In the excellent liner notes to the 1998 Westside reissue, producer Henry Scott-Irvine (see 'Beyond the Pale', 'the ultimate fan website', www.procolharum.com) states January 1968 as the release date.
Other sources:
Many believe it was released in 1967 because the vinyl bears the manufacture year 1967.

That same procolharum.com website lists the release date as 1967. Quick google searches reveal that there seem to be more sites that reference 1967 vs. 1968.
Does any of our older members remember buying the album in 1967? Come to think of it, my father might have the original vinyl...hmm. |
