wow cool! It shud be the over way round, i dont know how they can fit their amazing live show into the time span of a support band. When i saw em on their own tour they played a 2.5 hour set with only 7 tracks. They had flute solos and sax solos and everything, it was brilliant.

cool, I thought that Volta would be back in the studio after this tour.  I know I have my tickets to see them next Tuesday at the Riv here in the windy city.  but its only Mars on this tour

I think they do it on purpose...The Mars Volta are trying to change rock music.

First A Perfect Circle...now SOAD.  hmmmmmmmm...i think they have a plan.

Anyway i saw them in philly and it was f**king incredible.  Ill go to see TMV when they open for system...but ill probally move into the back when they come on.

Supporting SOAD is i reckon a move to convert the unconverted. Cedric said in a recent interview that this was what they wanted to do.

Good luck to them I say and fingers crossed they can open a few more people's eyes to  the realms of prog muisic!

It will be interesting to see how they can compact their current headlining live show, replete with improvisation,to a 45 minute support slot.  SOAD fans are all thick as sh1t, so they won't know what to make of a good band playing in front of them...as opposed to SOAD!

I would have assumed by this point volta would have established a large enough fan base to warrant a headlining spot. I am curious to see whether system will match their intensity, but I predict that the show's climax will precede system's on stage arrival, judging by past comments I have received on volta's live act.
Finite for today.

SOAD is naturally just an awful, sloppy live band from every perosn I've ever heard.  I saw TMV on the Deloused tour and was non-plussed, the jams semmed really meandering, but I've nothing but glowing things about this tour.  Have they really tightened up that much?

There is a celestial justice for those 5 stars reviews of Frances the Mute...
