Topic: Asia and (almost) Yes U.S. Tour 2009 Posted: April 16 2009 at 15:22 |
Apparently Asia's opening for Yes even though it's Asia's classic lineup, not Yes'. Still, Yes have a lot more years to draw on than Asia so I guess that order makes sense. Double-duty Steve Howe should come off the tour with an especially tidy sum, one would think. And I'm sure this news isn't going over too well at Chez Anderson. Wonder if there'll be a closing jam with both bands?

Mmmm. Interesting. I'm going to see Asia tomorrow in Cardiff, and am really looking forward to it. I find it interesting, however, that the "new" Yes still won't come to the UK to win over sceptics like me who still insist on Yes being nothing without Anderson, but are still prepared to give it a go.

Awesome. My father and I plan on catching them when they play Philadelphia. He saw Yes back in 1979 on the Tormato tour.

Well, Jon is getting better, since he has a gig scheduled in Warsaw on 30th June, so I am not sure whether continuing In The Present is a wise move, if Yes shall be kept going on
On the other hand I do not know if it is tour is not going to be too much Yes for the audience - Yes and Asia are not too far away from each other in terms of musical style, and Asia used to play some Yes songs on last tour
Come to Europe though, I just can't believe that Yes has become an American band

Though the announced ASIA line-up is impressive, I am not sure if it's a good idea to mix their AOR with the real prog masters. I can't wait to see the result of this blend, too much glory on the stage.
