Time to update this thread to 20,000 other things I could have done. :
What is really, really freaky, is that I am now tied with Padraic who also reached 20,000 posts today. As most of you probably remember his user id used to be Natural Science before he changed it. As soon as I reached 20,000 posts, my iTunes randomly selected Natural Science as the next song to play.

It's a damn good job we don't have a word-count tally running too because that would be really embarrassing: Hello, my name is Dean I have verbal diarrhoea and have nothing worthwhile to say but If I use enough multisyllabic words without any form of punctuation I can give the outward impression of being quite informative and erudite without actually conveying a message of any kind or adding anything of importance to the thread.

Congrats on your 20k, Scott ! If nothing bad happens, I should be reaching that mark in a couple of months or so. What else could I have done instead? Perhaps tried 20,000 recipes (I probably have many times that number at home) .

If I weren't on PA as much as I am...I could probably be pretty good at playing bass right now.

That's assuming only one recipe is used per meal. Let's say that each meal has a main dish, along with 1 side dish at lunch and 2 at dinner. That makes it 20,000/[(1+2+3)*365]=9 years, 48 days and breakfast. Edit: We've also left out dessert. I'll not bother updating my calculations, though.

Me thinks Raff meant 20,000 different recipes so there will be a recipe duplication ratioto factor in.

Yeah, plus we would have to factor in the number of times they go out to eat, average number of days people miss one or more meals, vacations, etc.

It'll take me at least the rest of my life to get to 5 digits at the rate I'm going.

I'd like to write a novel while eating potato chips.
