Synth help please

   I've been looking into finding a good synthesizer to use.  For starters, lets just say that I've always craved having a Mini-Moog, but unless somebody here wants to give me three thousand dollars thats not going to be happening, at least for a very long time.  So since analogs are not an option as they are all VERY expensive, could anybody give me a good reccomendation?  I'm in the range of five hundred and a little up, and am mostly into this for the analogish sound, not annoying loops and whatnot.  And oscilaters are a requirement, though thats going to be on pretty much all anyway.  

I've heard very good things about the Roland SH-201 as well as many other analog sounding syntheziers.  I've tried to find video's to hear them, but people seem to be much more into putting on drums and loops and weird noises, where as I'm looking for more of the analog synth sound to actually play.  When I've looked around, I see hundreds of different ideas and have no idea.  So please, share your knowledge.

	Well in my opinion the best keyboard out there, and has been for a long long time, is the Triton, any model. I picked my Triton Classic up second hand for around 800 quid (have no idea what that is in dollars), but as you mentioned above it's a bit out of your price range. If you want a nice synth though I don't think 500 (dollars or pounds) is gonna cut it, if I were you I'd save up about 800 at least. I'm sure if you go on eBay though there are some pretty genorous Juno-D/G offers going (I'm not a fan myself, but you could probably get one for around 500 on there, and they can replicate an analog synth quite effectively), but personally I'd stick with Korg. Who knows, if you win the lottery you could go for the Oasys?

	Man if I win the lottery the first thing I'm doing is buying a Mini-Moog, a Hammond B-3, and a Leslie speaker.

	Check out the Alesis Micron. I've had one for about a year now and i still have only scratched the surface on what this keyboard can do. It's only 3 octaves but it's pretty portable. The presets are really good and you can tweak them in many different ways. The only thing that sucks about it is that there aren't many knobs and sliders like on a mini-moog, but if you take your time and dig deep into the keyboard there are just as many sonic possiblities

	Yeah, i'll be sure to post back here on how it is when I get it. Also, i just possibly got hooked up with a Wurlitzer 200, so I real pumped.

	I got the Micron in the mail today. I couldn't be happier with it. I haven't even begun to experiement with customizing it, or sequences or anything yet. But just the Black and Knobby setting alone would have been worth the 400. Great emulation of a mini moog, has all the oscilaters, frequency changes, tone variations, everything. This thing is awesome and I can't wait to mess with it more.
