Mermaid Kiss Recording New Album "American Images"

Last weekend saw Mermaid Kiss travelling to Hinton Barn in
Northamptonshire where they commenced recording their fourth Album,
"American Images".

Their first three CD's had all been recorded
in Kington at The Goat Shed; but now the band has grown to a six-piece,
this new venue was used for geographical reasons.

The current band line-up is now... 
Evelyn Downing - vocals, flute, harmonies, loops
Wendy Marks - harmony vocals, oboe, flute, recorders, double bass 
Jamie Field - guitars
Colin Henney - keyboards, piano
Richard Northwood - bass, cello
Steve White - drums, percussion

The tracks "Scissored Ground", "The Promised Land", "Ghost Rider" and "She Fades Away" were all recorded.

The next recording sessions will be over the weekend of the 14th/15th of March.

The tentative track listing is as follows...

Trail of Tears
Ghost Riders

Forces of Nature Suite:
Scissored Ground
Dust Bowl Bride
River Girl
Rhonda and the Paper Crane

Cities Suite:
This Promised Land

She Fades Away

I saw MERMAID KISS support BREATHING SPACE at the Robin2 in Bilston during September of last year.
Although it was not the full band I was impressed with the quality of their songs and performance.
