Hi I'm new here and I'm seeking talented musicians who would like to compose together (with me) a progressive project including elements of metal, classical, industrial, etc.
Don't bother the distance because we would all do this by internet (msn, webcam, etc...)
The goal here is to make an album (EP, LP or full-lenght...we'll see) made out of musicianship, technicality, ear-ripping solos, beautiful melodies, odd times, normal times (to rock!) and above all to make this without sung lyrics, only pure instrumental paradise.

I have a storyline, all that is left to do is the music!
And be creative!

Who is with me?

Wouldn't this be more fun if you kidnapped some unwilling musicians? LOL
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Audacity is the Open Source version of the pay an arm and a leg for commercial music studios. A linux project, but now ported to Windose. So I guess the answer is yes. Look it up, ask Mr Google and see if its output specs suit.

If you're still accepting people then I'd like to help out. Never tried making a project with other people over the internet before, sounds interesting. I'm guessing you're going for a Liquid Tension Experiment type sound judging by classical industrial instrumental metal sound you want?

in which manner do you want to help us out, puffylemon?

and no, it is really not Liquid Tensionish sounding (in my head) but as we will write and record it may have some resemblances.

Well that's good (on the not sounding like LTE part). And by help, well I know jack sh*t about producing but I play acoustic/electric guitar (not at "mind bending solo" level yet though), and a little bit of bass. Also, got a lot of ideas which I'm sure are usable.

Could be a prog rock Bitches Brew. But who would cut and paste so that no one recognised the end result ?  Forgive my cynicism,  Bitches Brew was a landmark after all......
