 Topic: "A Day In The Life" or "Strawberry Fields Forever"

Which song do you prefer or which song was more influential? These are two of my favorite songs. I like how both uses Avant structures with pop melodies.

Despite the greatness of ADITL, SFF is my favourite song of all time. Come on, two different versions of a song in different keys, one speeded up, one slowed down, both joined together so you can hardly tell where the join is.
Genius.

I love both songs and the outakes were cool too. However, I find A Day In the Life to be more favored by my ears because of that crazy as hell breakdown. Man I love it. Also John's voice and words are so haunting.

A Day in the Life is hands down my favorite Beatles song. I remember hearing it and finally recognizing why The Beatles are so revered (at the time I was only familiar with their early material). I just love the melodies so much. Both are brilliant songs, though.

I can't really choose, both are two of my favorite Beatles songs, but I guess Strawberry Fields just because of the mellotron usage and pushing the instrument further into the public.

Very good question. Probably my favourite 2 by the Beatles. I'd just favour A Day in the Life. As for their influence, about even.
