Topic: Great Quality (For Money) PC Speakers Posted: June 05 2008 at 10:13 |
In the last couple of days I've been looking at various surround sound systems which I could use for computer gaming, watching DVDs and listening to music. Currently I use the excellent Logitech X-530, which costs about 70 EUR (5.1 speakers + amp!) - but I want to upgrade to a system which can handle multiple inputs (the X-530 only handles one analog 5.1 source), and which has a little bit more power and quality.
I have two reasons for creating this thread: First I'd like to praise the X-530 because it offers great quality for money, and if you currently have computer speakers which don't exactly sound hi-fi then I can only recommend Logitech systems to everyone - if not the 5.1 X-530 then the 2.1 X-210, which only costs about 30 EUR. For that price it sounds absolutely wonderful!
The second reason is that I wasn't able to find the right system to upgrade to ... maybe you have some suggestions? Apparently you can get a really good surround sound system for about 5,000 EUR, but there has got to be something between that and my really affordable X-530 which offers a good compromise between price, audio quality and versatility (in terms of sources I can use - digital inputs, analog stereo inputs, analog 5.1 inputs etc.).
So ... what kind of computer speakers do you use, would you recommend them, or what system would you upgrade to?
