I like the new album list filtering provided in the Top 100 area though I think too much is now hidden. To improve this area I have a couple of suggestions...

1. Set up PA to allow users to create a personal default preference for filtering on ratings, etc. so that each user can get a personaly filtered list by default and, where no user preferences exist, default the output data to the PA defined parameters.

2. Provide a link to allow users to select this list-type view of albums that have zero ratings. These albums are difficult to view in a list format with cover pix now that the album has to have a rating to get included in the Top 100 listings. The use of genre, recording type, year and country will allow this list to be of use for research purposes.

Cheers,

I like these ideas.  I've wanted a link to allow zero ratings too... In fact, I haven't been able to get any albums with zero ratings in the past (even when results were limited).

I did a topic yesterday, but just noticed this one so deleted it, so I'll respost here:

Currently we have these:

Filter: Minimum Number of Ratings

Filter: Minimum Average Rating Value

NOTE: The values do not seem to work at 0.

I wish we had these as an added feature:

Filter: Maximum Number of Ratings

Filter: Maximum Average Rating Value

Before anyone asks, "That kind of defeats the value of a TOP list, doesn't it?", I just think it would be a useful search feature for finding unrated and lesser rated albums.  A filter number of "reviews" specifically would be useful to.

And a question:  Of course there is this where one can get a comprehensive list for a year: http://www.progarchives.com/albums-year.asp?year=2008  Is there a way to easily search all non-reviewed albums at the moment?

One can't see the non-rated albums for 2008 because one cannot utilise a minimum number of ratings and minimum average rating value of 0 (or more correctly it should be for no ratings which would qualify no average rating).  It used to be that one could view the top 5000 albums by manually inputting the number in the url, now one can use the filter option for searching many reviews, but one still can't get the unrated ones to list there (or at least one couldn't). I really wish one could filter maximum number of ratings and maximum average rating value as well as being able to use the other filters to help search for non-rated albums.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.

I like the idea of the maximum filters, Logan Clap

It certainly would certainly help in some of the searches I have done in the album area.
