Hello all, great site you have here. I have just recently started getting into progressive music (within the past month or so) but even in such a short period of time, it has taken up almost all of my listening. I am more into harder prog stuff, like prog metal. Like I said, I haven't been listening to prog for to long, but so far Im really liking stuff like...

-Devin Townsend
-Riverside
-Evergrey
-Kamelot (not especially proggy, I know, but they are on the archives)
and
-Ulver

I just bought Ayreons the Human Equation today, so Im going to tear into that one soon. I also plan to get stuff from Sylvan, Dead Soul Tribe, Ark, Vanden Plas, Dream Theater, and Iced Earth (once again, I know, not especially proggy) shortly.

So, hey everyone. Any recs based on these?

P.S.: I made this account a couple months ago, but this is the first time I have really started to use it, so pay no mind to my "joined" date

Welcome!

I really can't help you with metalish stuff, I really dislike it (no offense) but if you're getting to a little softer like Deep Purple and that stuff perhaps I can help you.

Hey, welcome to the forum, I've only been here a short time and I feel like it's my second home already!

If you're into the heavier stuff check out Dream Theater's newer stuff (Especially Train of Thought)...and work your way to the older stuff (which is the best when you get a little more into prog). They might just become one of your new faves Big%20smile!

based on your list, you might enjoy Transatlantic, Cynic, Jordan Rudess solo stuff, and possibly Opeth if you don't mind the growling   ..welcome

I totally forgot about Opeth and Between the Buried and Me. Give them a listen to..and if you get into DT and Opeth check if Progressive Nation is coming to your city...I already got my tickets for the 2nd night at terminal 5

Judging by your current tastes, you'd probably adore bands like Eskaton, Eider Stellaire, Weidorje, and, most importantly, Magma.

Wow, thanks. I have quite a bit of stuff to check out now.

And I have been listening to that Ayreon album; it is now one of my favorite albums of all time. Thumbs%20Up

Thanks for the welcome Smile

Howdy from Texas and welcome to the club.
