Dear RUSH fans,

The new RUSH book "Chemistry", which was originally reported as having a spring release date, is now expected in September 2005.

Author Jon Collins writes: "The writing stage of the book is now finisihed and the text has been passed to a numbe of people for review. It covers the complete history of the band from origins to present day, including side projects and other activities. Over 60 people have interviewed, in person, by phone or by email, and several hundred interview with the band members have been referenced - in all there are at least 1500 separate citations in the text. I don't know what the final number of pages will be, but the current  count is 148, 077 words. There's still plenty more to do, but we're on track for September."

Amazon says the books contains 256 pages.

If you'd like to pre-order the book, visit Amazon.com

Peace & take care of yourself people

I already have the book "Merely Players", and it's brilliant, and I consider it the Ultimate bio on rush. I don't think I'd need to read another one.

"Contents Under Pressure" (martin popoff) is the official Rush biography.

Robert Telleria, author of "Mereley Players" (sic),uses no original interviews or material and he cant even spell!LOL

The only one I have actually read is Bill Banasiewicz's:Visions The official History Of Rush from 1988.

Visions, by Bill Banasiewicz

I've read most of Contents Under Pressure. Its a fantastic book, and is broken into album-based chapters... my only beef with this book is that because of its layout, it focuses too much on the album of the chapter and never gets the chance to sit back and reflect upon all of rush's history, or upon the members of rush themselves. The book does do these things, just not to the extent that I would have liked.

This is great news! Only one I've read is Visions. It was good, but a little too gushy for my tastes sometimes (the author--the "B" man if you've ever seen that name in some of the liner notes--is a HUGE fan and personal friend of the band). Plus it only covers up to the "Hold Your Fire" album, unless there are new editions out since I bought mine.
