Well, we're in the Progressive Rock top 30 at Garageband.com, and have been for a while.

Our reviews are generally positive, and agree with our categorisation.

We've compiled, but not released an album called "Disturbed", and we're working on our second album.

We have one song which is 10 minutes or so in length, called "Strange".

Our music can be heard on our MySpace site - http://www.myspace.com/Certif1ed, including our "hits" "Avoiding" and "Modern Man", and our epic "Strange".

So... we didn't start out intending to write Prog Rock, and frankly, I don't think we do ("Strange" apart).

But what do you guys think?

Remember, we won't be upset if you decide we're not Prog enough - that was never our intention - we're just interested in feedback and who knows, exposure through inclusion in the Archives

We've been waiting for you Mark, and now that you're here I've waited three days before responding.

Just a few random remarks to get the discussion started Smile

:

Control: I skipped that one, because the bass level was so high was so it ruined the rest of the sound.

Monkey: reminds me of Indy and recent British rock bands, but it's heavier, not so screamy and there's a bit of 'Indie' touch to it.

Strange: Hmmm - that's definetely not a standard rock tune - a bit of Space Rock in there and a bit of Heavy Prog. Nice one - so far this is the one that I really like!

All in all (will get back to the other tracks later - remind me if I don't) - it sounds wonderfully full for a two-piece, and quite varied as well!

Could you add a bit of line up information here or on MySpace? Just curious who plays what, and who did the singing on the different tracks.

Thanks for the comments, Angelo - just a quick question; If the bass is too high on "Control", why not turn down the bass on whatever equipment you're listening on?

It doesn't sound too bad on my equipment either at home or work, and it sounds OK on the studio monitors - although I'd be last to say that we've got the hang of this mixing lark yet.

Seriously, we'll do another remix and listen out for bass overload on that track, as it's one of our more recent, and we're happy with the way the two parts of it turned out. Anything we can do to make it more accessible, engineering-wise, we will.

As to the line-up, I do all guitars and Andy does the vocals - although I have been known to chip in some vocal harmonies. We tend to mix those in with the 'Tron choir, so it's a bit hard to hear what's backing vox and which is synth - but that's just what we want; to mixup electronix and acoustic music.

We both play keyboard bits and pieces - he tends towards the soundscapes, programming and wooey noises, and I tend to play tunes and chord progressions, being classically trained.

The drums are all sample loops - which tend to be poor on our early tracks, such as "Monkey", but better on later tracks like "Control".

The important thing is not to stop questioning.

About "Control", I would say that it could be brightened up a little bit because it is a little bit heavy on the lows and low mids, but it still is a very good song IMO and the bass isn't too overpowering (although mine is not a professional opinion, just my observation).

I've heard your music before but I don't know if I've ever commented on it. I really like the vocals, reminds me a lot of OSI, and the songs are good electronic rock songs. As you say, they aren't super progressive but that doesn't bother me much. Nice work on this project.

Quick reply before bed time (and being away for 5 days): the bass level on my new (PC set) was indeed set to high, I turned it down later. Haven't relistened Control yet though.
