One doesn't even have to like it. However, the topic creator could have chosen to express his thoughts in a less insulting manner.

Spot on.
Even us proggers are susceptible to the human condition. I believe it's called "stuck in the seventies."

I completely agree with Philéas here. If you are so scandalised by the presence of 'metal' bands on PA, or think they have nothing progressive to them, it means you've never listened to them. And this comes from someone who grew up with 'classic' prog, and who is not really a PM fan (though of course I'm interested in it, as I am interested in ALL subgenres). A little open-mindedness wouldn't hurt anyone, in my very humble opinion.

Some of the replies in this thread are downright pathetic.
I'm not a Prog Metal fanboy by any means, but I mean.. come on...

Actually even if it hadn't spit, I've noticed an increase in metal fans on this site since I joined last year. The best way to deal with it is to review as many non-metal albums as you can.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Wow. A thread bashing prog metal. How original.

Which proves only that heresy runs rampant even in the core of progdom.

Sad indeed, because progressive music cannot contain metal.
