not that its a glaring mistake, and it doesnt matter particularly but their name is
 
'the pineapple thief'
 
not just 'pineapple thief'
 
but if you cant be bothered to change it its not catastrophic

The problem is that on some album covers it is written as Pineapple Thief...

I think that the best solution is to write it this way -- Pineapple Thief, (The)

I don't think we are generally that precise anyway. It is generally down to whether or not the person adding the band includes the definite article.
 
Some bands, such as The Doors and The Beatles always have it, while with others it seems optional. 
 
Were Pink Floyd not originally known as The Pink Floyd.

i didnt relaise that about their albums, but yeah your right now that i look
yeah the pink floyd, i just finished reading their biography [the one by nick mason] an amazing story
 
wait since the books done by only one member of the band does that mean its an auto biogrpaphy or just a biogrpahy?
