Ok I love synth but I'm on a bit of a budget and I don't play keys (so no 5 grand korg tritons), I just want something small quality with lots of cool sounds, possibly a vocoder that is good for all kinds of music.

So far I have had my eyes on a microkorg but I want to explore some possibilities before I commit as even though it's by no means expensive as far as synths go it's still a lot of money to be forking out.

without a doubt if you are on a budget, go for an 'Alesis Micron' It is perfect for prog music, got alot of prog presets, tarkus sounds, wakeman sounds.mellotron sounds.vocoder, drum patterns.aww it's just amazing and it doesnt have the annoying baby finger keys the microkorg has.

You will not be disapointed! I wasn't. I got rid of my Korg ms2000B for one and i'm glad i did

Thanks great suggestion, it's nice and cheap too, I think I'll get one.

Edit:

Yeah I got one, it's really good and cheap as chips, just what I need as an entry level synth, thanks for the reccomendation, I've got some awesome psychedlic sounds out of it.
