wood here too. It breathes better than bricks, and allows you to attach stuff onto the walls without drilling. Also, bricks tend to be cold, and it's cold here where I live. :)

But will it keep the Carnivores out?

Not to mention the many mythicval beasts that live in your parts.

As the Diagram Brothers so eloquently put it:

"Bricks!
Lay 'em down in a straight line
Bricks!
Build 'em into a wall
Bricks!
Very useful objects
They're not expensive at all."
'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

I'd go for straw. It is environmentaly sound, grows quicker than wood so is emminently renewable, does not use heat to fire it like brick so is a low-enegry material. It is a perfect insulator so it's cool in summer and warm in winter and covered in mud or plaster it does not rot.

Fortunatley, since wolves are now extinct in the UK, it won't get blown down either. Wink

What?

A Manchester band from the late 70s/early 80s who were regulars on the John Peel show. They're somethimes compared to XTC - sharp, angular new wave stuff. Andy Diagram is still going strong as a musician (he plays MIDI trumpet) - amongst other projects, he's part of Pere Ubu spin off David Thomas and 2 Pale Boys, and he also reviews albums for avant-noise magazine The Wire.

Bricks was regularly requested on Peel's show, and is probably the closest they came to a hit. There's a CD called Marvels of Modern Science, which I think contains all their official releases.
