Pat Metheny and Brad Mehldau will be playing at Glasgow's Carling Academy on 29th June, as part of the 2007 Glasgow Jazz Festival.

Tix are £28 and are available from www.ticketweb.co.uk from Monday, 22nd Jan. That's today, but as yet there ain't no sign of them!!

2007 is already shaping up to be a good year for live music in Glasgow!!

Metheny tickets finally went on sale yesterday.

As I went through the Ticketweb process (first time I'd ever bought from them), I was presented with a page outlining delivery options. It was going to cost either 1.50 (UK pounds) for box office collection or 2.25 for postal delivery.

My first thought was that I was finally dealing with a company who aren't ripping people off with inflated postal charges and booking fees.

This lasted all of 30 seconds. As the very last page came up on screen with my final total, there suddenly appeared a 14 pound (US$27) "service charge" which had not been mentioned in any way prior.

These damn charges really get my blood boiling!! I can understand a reasonable charge to cover postal costs, but paying 14 smackers for what is essentially a computer exercise is outrageous!

Yet another example of "Rip-Off Britain".
