Words cannot really express the vibe that was going on at the
Melkweg for 3 days straight!! What an honor for me that I had a solo
set scheduled on Friday!! It was so fun--though, I did miss House of
Thandoy and Hadouk, since had also joined Chris Cambridge for his
set, as well..

WOW--the Pierre and Pip tribute was incredible!! Unfortunately for
me, I started getting a mirgraine during the drumming. I had a
serious migraine all day and night on Saturday, so didn't go into
the Main Hall other than passing through to the upstairs greenrooms.
But, from what I could hear of Eat Static--WOW!!! Just too
physically painful for me to remain in there.. Grrrrrrr!!!

So, I stayed in the Old Hall on Saturday. I really enjoyed Stroking
the Tail of the Bird. It was so scenic and beautiful!!!

I was feeling much better on Sunday and very excited!!! Daevid had
invited me to play some violin during his book signing. I wasn't
sure what I was going to do, though, since I had already played my
solo set on Friday. So, I invited Graham Clark to join me for an
ambiant electric violin duet set. He was really into the idea!

We played for some time, then the band that had been booked for
after the book signing morphed into what we were doing. It was a
psychadelic string symphony with tons of delay. It was totally
improvised to accompany the amazing performance artists who emerged
from behind a paper screen.

All the music was absolutely incredible!!! Tim Blake with Jean-
Phillipe Rykeil were even better than they were in Exeter in Sept!
Steve Hillage Band--WOW!!!!!! Absolutely fantastic!! My heart was
beating and beating a mile a minute during the SHB set!! WOW!!

Then: Gong!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! With Steve and Tim!! I cannot even
express the intensity of this set! Seeing 800 PhP's in the audience--
almost overwhelming!! I have seen Gong perform before, but this set
was even more exciting than I could have ever imagined!!!!

The Whole three days were just incredible. I wished I could have split in two on saturday, to be in both halls at once. As it was, I flitted back and forth before eventually deciding on the Old Hall. Eat Static & System 7 are great, but I'll always be an "old school" PHP at heart.
As for the venue, thuis wedstrijd eh?Big smile

I think that even if I didn't have a migraine, I would have stayed in the Old Hall on Sat.  Stroking the Tail was AMAZING, wasn't it?  Did I meet you, btw?  And did you see any of my Viper playing?  I played about 3 hours between Friday and Sunday.

Glad to see another PHP here!!!!!!!!!

Hi Cyndee

As you already know from the PE forum, I simply could not make it  for health reasons. This will probably be my major regret of this decade , if not the millenium!!Cry

I sawx the piccies posted as the party spilled out on the streets >> just fantastic!!!

I suffer from migranes too, but luckily not all that often (does that mean they're just extremely bad headaches? I don't think so).
When I feel one coming on, I tend to take around 3-4 Neurofen tablets/capsules. Overkill is sometimes to best solution!

Migraines are SO bad, and they make you feel sick too.  I did take a TON of meds but nothing works unless I can sleep too.   :(
