Neil Peart recently appeared in a light-hearted spot on CBC's Rick Mercer Report.
Rick receives lessons from the usually camera-shy drum maestro and gets to here some of Neil's "hilarious" drummer jokes. Watch it on Youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCqgV1u0LJE access Rick Mercer's webpage here: http://www.cbc.ca/mercerreport/ Thanks to Nigel for the heads up. No, no, no! Alex has the humour. Neil is about as funny as a Kraft Cheese Single.

¿Didn't his whole family died in a plane accident or something?. I heard a thing about his while ago, but I don't remember the note exactly. Anyway, if he's not funny, perhaps that is a reason for it... Ok, I just read about his daughter and his wife. No airplane. Still, if my loved ones went like that, my humour would be non existant. His wife & daughter died within 6 months of each other. Despite this, Peart's a funny guy - just don't expect fart gags or nob jokes... not his style. |

His daughter died in a car accident on her way to university. And his wife got really depressed and she got terminal cancer and died. A really sad story. Neil wrote a book about his travels after that happened. Its a pretty interesting book. I think it's called Ghost Rider or something like that.

Cool video. Generally, the drummers are funny guys. I noticed it in several drummers this week end at the Drumm Fest. Carl Palmer is funny too. He has a stand up comick attitude on stage. If ever we have it at the DrumFest, I am sure that Carl will teach, he will tell funny stories, and finally he will drum for about the last 15 minutes.
Thanks for posting this video. With this, the DrumFest is continuing on this rainy monday. |
