Topic: Rodriguez (Mars Volta)+Suzuki(CAN)-new EP Posted: November 02 2006 at 13:39 |
I haven't been on the archives in a long time due to work on other complications so I'm not entirely sure if this has been said yet. But this is on the Gold Standard Label site (and yes I did do a search to check but didn't find it.)
"GSL is very pleased to announce the forthcoming release of a very special record, a collaboration between Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Damo Suzuki of the legendary band CAN. Entitled "Please Heat This Eventually", the vinyl-only 12" EP will be released in early December and initially available through mailorder only. It will be properly released to stores in early 2007. The recording features musical contributions from the OR-L Quintet (Juan Alderete de la Pena, Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, Money Mark Nish*ta and Adrian Terrazas Gonzales). "
Should be pretty cool.

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless Compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

Great news! Two great bands/artists. I wonder how this would sound like.

I could not foresee this one. I don't expect a great EP, but this new collaboration intrigues me.

Well, In Germany a couple years ago, Omar opened for Suzuki at a show and a few months later Suzuki returned the favor by opening for Omar at a show in Australia.
They have known each other for sometime I'd say if they are collaborating.

Well, I never heard about it over on the Coma so it was unexpected to me.
