Topic: Zappa - Barking Pumpkin Label Posted: September 20 2006 at 22:38 |
Are his albums under this label remastered well? Just wondering because the more common ones were done in 1995 by Ryko, but in 1990 they were Barking Pumpkin.

Well, I know that The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life was released on both labels (I have the Barking Pumpkin one, which is has a significantly different cover than the Ryko one). I do believe that the Barking Pumpkin releases were released on Ryko as well, but I'm not 100% certain.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they were, I was just wondering how the sound quality compares to the remasters by ryko.

Well naturally, a remaster should have better sound quality than an original issue (not always the case, though).

Ha, yeah one would hope so. But I'm not entirely sure the barking pumpkin releases haven't been remastered.

The remasters used for the US Barking Pumpkin releases were the same as the Zappa Records versions released in Europe.
This Site will tell you everything you need to know about the different variants of Zappa's releases.
